The third Irish Sarcoma Meeting will take place on 30th November 2016 at Gibson Hotel.
The Second Irish Sarcoma Group Meeting will take place at the Gibson Hotel, Dublin on Thursday December 3rd 2015. This year the focus will be on gynaecological sarcomas, desmoids and the sarcomas that affect teenagers and young adults. The meeting will be open to all healthcare professionals from the island of Ireland who have a special interest in this rare group of cancers. The programme and how to register will be available shortly.
The formation of the Irish Sarcoma Group and it’s website are finalists for an Irish Healthcare Centre Award.
The winners will be announced at a dinner in DunLaoghaire Yacht Club on March 27th 2015
Sinead Quinn and Dr Charles Gillham, co-founder of the Irish Sarcoma Group, appeared on the Saturday Night Show on March 21st to help raise awareness about sarcomas, the importance of early diagnosis and what symptoms to look out for.
Ronan Clarke died almost one year after being diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. The Mayo man was known to many as a former presenter on the rural affairs programme, Ear to the Ground. In advance of World Cancer Day, Ronan’s wife Sinead and Dr. Charles Gillham join Damien OReilly in studio to raise awareness of sarcoma and to highlight an early detection message pertinent to all cancer types.
